Fairspirations

Have you realized I really, really like fairs yet?  Good.  That means we're getting to know each other on a much more personal level.  I'm heading back to the Big E this weekend and meeting up with some friends from college, yay.  Here's another glance at last week's experience...

and here's a glance at my inspiration for today's post!

Heard of the book, "1984?"  It was a mandatory reading in my high school and if you have any clue what the book is about then you'll hopefully understood its about to this photo.  And if not, just take a peek at this gem of a mural.

Hello there, Big Brother.

Signs of Fall

I really do love New England.  Talk to me at the end of January and I will probably say, "I wish I lived in California."  I do love New England though, for now at least.  I love the seasons, the looking forward to sweaters and the eventual dread of sweaters, I love wearing shorts for the first time despite the thermometer reading 65 degrees, but I digress.  This post is about fall, not my love/hate of sweaters.  Fall wins the first place title of my favorite season, tying with only 3 others.  It is important to note that each time a new season is among us I think it's my favorite season.  Regardless, things I love about fall include but are not limited to:

-wood burning fire smell
-apple cider(cold or hot, thank you, Dunkin Donuts(but not thank you for your creepy looking chicken salad))
-apple picking, minus the actual picking part
-fairs(or at least photos of fairs)
-pictures of pumpkins
-pie, and lots of it
-Halloween, even though I can't trick or treat anymore without running the risk of, well you know...
-gourds

....and the list could continue until I put you to sleep unless you already are and for that I apologize.

Weekend Update

Friday was an absolutely perfect night!  The BF and I, who I will refer to as Joel from here on out, or as long as I feel like it, met up with two of our best friends for delicious food, fun drinks, and even funnier faces.

Food For Thought

Since staying with my sister I've eaten like a complete Queen!  Her and my brother-in-law are such wonderful cooks that I'll miss their cooking next week.  Last nights menu: Pizza, or as my mother would call it, "Za." Despite it being morning, this meal still looks so delicious to me!

Backyard Bliss

Each of these photos were taken in my sisters backyard, which in case you haven't realized, I love.  There's a beautiful simplicity to her yard, which is yet another reason why I love it.

A Side of Homefries, Please

This is yet again another continution of my long labor day weekend. While still in Newton as this point, Joel and I set out to find a breakfast place while simultaneously checking out a few surrounding towns.  Our mutual love for food and all things greasy makes us an easy pair to please.  After a simple google search we set out for Sorella's in Jamaica Plain.  I'm pretty sure they have the largest array of omlette selections I've seen at one restaurant, and yet, neither Joel or I got one.
