Oh Christmas Tree

Joel and I put our Christmas tree up this week and now I'm often found laying on the couch, just gazing at my lovely little fake tree (courtesy of my sister).  We purchased the lovely little lobster and guitar ornaments this past weekend in Vermont and I'm nearly obsessed with them.  Mostly because they're the first ornaments we've bought together.  It's exciting times in my life and you should all be jealous.

Weekend Update

Joel and I were lucky enough to spend the weekend in Vermont with his family.  We stayed in this amazing house (as seen below) with a view to match (also, as seen below).  It was the perfect weekend because it consisted of two of my favorite things: outlet shopping and food.  Crab cakes benedict and 40% off J.Crew.  I'm a fan.  Hope your Thanksgiving weekends were as enjoyable as mine.

Keep Calm and Gobble On

Things I'm thankful for

*My wonderful and loving family and friends
*My (Our) adorable new apartment with Joel
*The delicious leftovers I'm about to consume
*The $12.99 I spent on season 1 of The Vampire Diaries, thanks to black friday sales.  Yes, I just openly admitted to liking The Vampire Diaries.  Deal with it
*My aunt's adorable little dog

Happy weekend everyone!  My apologies for the lack of posts.  My computer and I were fighting, but we're over it now.

Weekend Update

I'm apologizing in advance for what will probably be a light week of posts.  Life's been busy lately, new job and new apartment with Joel (as of Saturday!).  I've been spray painting old furniture like a mad woman (probably why I'm having so much trouble typing right now) and organizing a crap load of things I like to call my personal possessions.  For now, happy Monday-Is it Friday yet?

D.I.Y

My mom and I took full advantage of our down time this past week and decided to make pillows for the apartment Joel and I are moving into in a couple of weeks!  We took old pillows from my college years, purchased some lovely patterns from JoAnne's fabric and voila, pillow party.  Well, production pillow party.

Since I'm just a beginner sewer, my mom did most, while all the actual sewing, but I'm one mean ironer in case you're interested in my services.  We, rather she, still has a few more pillows to sew, but so far they look great!

While my weekend only included the first it was still great.  Beets are next weekend.  I went to Beer Fest in Providence with some friends and it is was as great as it sounds.  Beer-Fest.  Glorious.  Such a fun weekend with such fun people!

Cheers to 5 Years

Taco Bell.  That is the magical place where Joel and I met 5 1/2 years ago.  Nothing says true love like soft-shell tacos and burritos.  We met through mutual friends and while I don't admit this often or willingly, I might have developed a slight crush on Joel.  What made me realize we truly were meant to be BF and GF, our mutual love for Martha's Vineyard (Yup, his family vacations their too) and McDonald's snack wraps.  L-O-V-E if you ask me.  Is it possible to have a better foundation?

We've grown up together during the past 5 years and I'm so truly happy to call this amazingly sweet, kind, and generous person my boyfriend and best friend.  Happy 5 years, Joel.  They've been nothing short of wonderful!

The Year We Met
Year 1
Year 2
Year 3
Year 4
Year 5:
P.S
4 out 6 photos were taken on Martha's Vineyard.  I wasn't joking about how important our love for that fabulous island is:)

Weekend Update

No I haven't lost track of time, and yes I realize it is now Thursday and I am just now posting my weekend update.  The weekend started out pleasantly, I dressed appropriately for the Halloween season as Wendy, which was welcomed by a friend as, "truly embracing my gingerhood."  Then Saturday happened.  Parts of New  England (and I'm not forgetting about you Jersey) were hit terribly hard with a snow storm on Saturday night.  There's been a lot of damage and my house is still without power!  Luckily my family and I have escaped to our condo in the Berkshires, but it looks as though it will still be a while before power is restored.  Here's a little preview of what we've all been dealing with this past week.
