That's right folks, those long days spent thinking about what perfect presents to get your loved ones is yet again over in a blink. Ahh, but not to fear, today is my half birthday. For those of you who know my thoughts about birthdays (not only mine, shame on you.), you know how seriously I take any day which involves the words birth and day. Just kidding, but not really (presents are appreciated, but not necessary). While I'm trying to get my timing and consistency back on track with this little blog of mine, enjoy a few family photos taken this Christmas.

Weekend Update
This past weekend was the perfect balance between busy and relaxing. Saturday afternoon Joel and I celebrated his grandmother's birthday with his family in lovely Southern CT. That evening a few friends came over while we indulged in bacon pizza and episodes of SNL (if you have yet to see the latest episode please make a point of it. I might never get over how hilarious Jimmy Fallon's impression of J.Biebs was). Sunday I finished up my Christmas shopping (and possibly some of Joel's. Men, hopeless) and had my parents over for dinner. Corned beef and vegetables, I know, I'm so Irish. While I've seriously been slacking on photo documenting my clearly fascinating life, below is what I'd like to think of as our Christmas card if we happened to actually send those out.
Merry Wishes,
Sarah and Joel

Chirstmas Time is Here...almost.
Question: Weird that I still picture this (see below) to be the ideal Christmas shopping?
Answer: Yes. While pictures like this make me feel warm and fuzzy inside (literally, TMI?), I know they aren't a reailty I reallly want. One, I don't like crowds while shopping, yes I am that customer behind the long line of 20 huffing. And two, while shopping in snow may make for a great photo op, it's not my ideal. Still, I feel warm and fuzzy when I look at pictures such as these. Thank you, google images for keeping my Holiday cheer bright and merry!

Weekend Update
I'm pretty sure my mouth is permanently glued in smile formation due to the amount of time I spent with that expression on my face this past weekend. Joel and I hosted a holiday/house warming party at our new apartment with a bundle of friends. It was such a wonderful feeling having so many people I love under one roof. We're so lucky to have as many wonderful friends as we do. Thank you, friends, for making this weekend so special.

Weekend Update
As I've mentioned previously, Joel and I are officially living together, as roommates, and while we've been settled for some time it wasn't until today that I felt our precious little apartment was ready for the world to see (and yes, when I see world, I mean my you all). Enjoy, I have been! Stop one on the house tour express, living room.
*please note, the before pictures were taken in a different apartment, therefore they are not exactly the same*

Oh Christmas Tree
Joel and I put our Christmas tree up this week and now I'm often found laying on the couch, just gazing at my lovely little fake tree (courtesy of my sister). We purchased the lovely little lobster and guitar ornaments this past weekend in Vermont and I'm nearly obsessed with them. Mostly because they're the first ornaments we've bought together. It's exciting times in my life and you should all be jealous.

Weekend Update
Joel and I were lucky enough to spend the weekend in Vermont with his family. We stayed in this amazing house (as seen below) with a view to match (also, as seen below). It was the perfect weekend because it consisted of two of my favorite things: outlet shopping and food. Crab cakes benedict and 40% off J.Crew. I'm a fan. Hope your Thanksgiving weekends were as enjoyable as mine.

Keep Calm and Gobble On
Things I'm thankful for
*My wonderful and loving family and friends
*My (Our) adorable new apartment with Joel
*The delicious leftovers I'm about to consume
*The $12.99 I spent on season 1 of The Vampire Diaries, thanks to black friday sales. Yes, I just openly admitted to liking The Vampire Diaries. Deal with it
*My aunt's adorable little dog
Happy weekend everyone! My apologies for the lack of posts. My computer and I were fighting, but we're over it now.

Weekend Update
I'm apologizing in advance for what will probably be a light week of posts. Life's been busy lately, new job and new apartment with Joel (as of Saturday!). I've been spray painting old furniture like a mad woman (probably why I'm having so much trouble typing right now) and organizing a crap load of things I like to call my personal possessions. For now, happy Monday-Is it Friday yet?

D.I.Y
My mom and I took full advantage of our down time this past week and decided to make pillows for the apartment Joel and I are moving into in a couple of weeks! We took old pillows from my college years, purchased some lovely patterns from JoAnne's fabric and voila, pillow party. Well, production pillow party.
Since I'm just a beginner sewer, my mom did most, while all the actual sewing, but I'm one mean ironer in case you're interested in my services. We, rather she, still has a few more pillows to sew, but so far they look great!
